Hybrid Volleyball Training is a six week commitment, starting with tryouts on June 3rd, 2023 (mandatory). The training and competition season will go from June 12-July 28 with one week off for 4’th of July week. This is an intense summer of lots of volleyball, so we do recommend this to athletes serious about improving their game. Hybrid athletes train indoor x2/week and beach x2 times/week and will have the opportunity to compete in both indoor and beach competitions/scrimmages. They will play in the Friday 4’s League at Coral Gables Senior High School throughout the summer and have the chance to compete in at least one Dig The Beach Tournament. This alternative training system gives players a new perspective and an advanced appreciation for the game of volleyball and how it is played. Phoenix coaches, with backgrounds in both indoor and beach, take our teams of athletes, from all different playing backgrounds and expose them to two very different sets of rules and strategies. WHAT TO BRING (BEACH TRAINING):
ATHLETES SHOULD BE PREPARED WITH ATHLETIC CLOTHING, A PAIR OF SOCKS (OR SANDSOX) AND WATER AT EVERY SESSSION. ALSO, VISORS /HATS / SUNGLASSES/ SUNSCREEN/ BUGSPRAY/TOWEL ARE A GOOD IDEA.

PREDICTING THE WEATHER IS NOT AN EXACT SCIENCE. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS FOR RAINOUTS, HOWEVER WE CAN SOMETIMES RESCHEDULE OR OFFER MAKEUP OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR ATHLETES.
ALL OF OUR BEACH/INDOOR TRAINING IS OPEN TO BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS AND MOSTLY CO-ED. SOME OF OUR HIGHER LEVEL GROUPS MAY TRAIN BOYS/GIRLS SEPERATELY WHEN IN SEASON. YOUNGER GROUPS WILL FOCUS ON BUILDING STRONG FUNDAMENTALS AND PLAY MOSTLY 4’S AND SOME DOUBLES TRAINING (6’s INDOOR). OUR OLDER, MORE ADVANCED GROUPS WILL HAVE MORE GAME-LIKE TRAINING IN PREPARATION FOR BEACH/GRASS/INDOOR COMPETITIONS. MANY OF OUR ATHLETES CHOOSE TO COMPETE IN BEACH TOURNAMENTS AND SCRIMMAGES, BUT THIS IS NOT REQUIRED.
